When I say we are a fire house that's exactly what we are.  Sure, we first respond when needed by the twp rescue and get invited on all vehicle accidents in the city, but outside of that ems is not usually the first thing on our minds.  As minimum Basic EMT's in the fire house, ems training is a drag.... at least to me.  So today, our resident ems instructor had us play a game to liven things up a bit.  It was Jeopardy and it was a blast.  The Captain and senior ff were on a team pitted against the Lt and a ff.  The two medics on shift weren't allowed to fully participate.  Lt and ff took the first game in only 45 minutes.  After being hosed the second game the Capt. and senior ff won "double or nothing".  The bet was for washing one of the rigs today since it's been pouring rain and they are filthy.  The point here is, that for the first time in 11 yrs I had fun with ems!  It was cutthroat, but man was it fun.  Keep changing things up in training.  Even if the training is completely off the wall, as long as we're learning , keep if fun.
